Layout

The Layout step sets the type of the aircraft. Changing a type proposes the surfaces and motors afresh.

Vehicle

Fixed-wing / VTOL or Multirotor.

Tail

Sets the tail surfaces and the ArduPilot mixing: Conventional, T-tail, H-tail, V-tail, Inverted V, Canard or Flying wing. The type that Deneb Aero detects in the geometry is labelled Detected.

Wing

Ailerons or Ailerons + flaps.

VTOL lift rotors

Quad X, Quad +, Hexa X, Octa X, Octa-quad X, Coaxial or No VTOL. Motor order and spin direction follow ArduPilot. Confirm the hub positions and the thrust direction in Propulsion.

Forward motor

Pusher, Puller, Twin pullers or None. Select None for an unpowered glider. Aircraft without lift rotors use an air launch in the simulator.

Forward engine

Electric motor, Gasoline engine or Jet engine.
