Installing on Linux
On Linux, Deneb Aero runs as a Docker container that starts with Docker. It listens only on this
computer (address 127.0.0.1, port 43127).
Requirements
A 64-bit Intel, AMD or Arm processor.
Docker Engine, installed and usable by your user. See https://docs.docker.com/engine/install/.
To check that Docker is usable without sudo, run:
docker info
If this fails with a permission error, add your user to the docker group and log in again:
sudo usermod -aG docker $USER
Procedure
Open the Download page in the Studio on the website (see Installing Deneb Aero).
In the Linux section, select Copy next to the command. It has the form:
curl -fsSL https://.../install | bash
Paste the command in a terminal and press Enter.
The script downloads the image for your processor, verifies its checksum, loads it into Docker and starts the container
deneb-aero. When it is ready, it prints:Deneb Aero is running: http://127.0.0.1:43127/?studio#/projects
On a desktop, the Studio opens in your browser. Otherwise open the address yourself.
Starting and stopping
The container restarts with Docker. To stop it:
docker stop deneb-aero
To start it again:
docker start deneb-aero
To read its log:
docker logs deneb-aero
Where the data is kept
Runs, flight packages and the connection to your account are kept in:
~/.local/share/deneb-aero
(or $XDG_DATA_HOME/deneb-aero when XDG_DATA_HOME is set). The folder is kept when Deneb Aero
is updated.
