Installing on macOS

Deneb Aero for macOS is installed with a single command in Terminal. The command downloads the application, verifies its checksum, places it in the Applications folder and opens it.

Requirements

  • A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later).

  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

  • For the flight simulator on macOS 14 or 15: Docker Desktop. On macOS 26 no other software is needed.

Procedure

  1. Open the Download page in the Studio on the website (see Installing Deneb Aero).

  2. In the Mac with Apple silicon section, select Copy next to the command. The command has this form:

    curl -fsSL https://.../install | bash

  3. Open Terminal (Applications ‣ Utilities ‣ Terminal).

  4. Paste the command and press Return.

  5. Wait while the application is downloaded. The progress is shown in Terminal. When it finishes, Terminal shows Installed in /Applications/Deneb Aero.app and the application opens.

  6. The Deneb Aero window appears and the Studio opens in your browser.

Note

If the Applications folder cannot be written by your user, the application is installed in the Applications folder of your home folder (~/Applications) instead.

The application in the menu bar

While Deneb Aero runs, its icon is shown in the menu bar. The menu has these items:

Open Deneb Aero

Opens the Studio in the browser.

Status

Shows whether the simulation service is running.

Show logs

Opens the log files, for troubleshooting.

Quit Deneb Aero

Stops the simulation service and the application (⌘Q).

Closing the browser or the Deneb Aero window does not stop your runs. Quitting the application stops them. A run that is stopped this way resumes from its last checkpoint when you open Deneb Aero again.

Where the data is kept

Runs, flight packages and the connection to your account are kept in:

~/Library/Application Support/Deneb Aero

This folder is kept when the application is updated.
